The Famous JUNK Drawer

I grew up with a drawer called the "junk" drawer. This is the place that everything you don't know what to do with goes...(or does it belong?) Ours was actually rather large. So was all that stuff really Junk? Or just one of those terms? I have to admit...I too have a Junk Drawer...it has the Title and all...(no label I'm not OCD) So do we all have one of these? Or is this one of the Mysteries passed down from generation to generation?

I have a junk drawer in my apartment, but when I lived at home we have junk drawers in almost every room!! No one could find anything. I had a friend who lived with her grandparents for a time and I loved going to her house, because everything had a place. There were no such thing as junk drawers. (I think her grandma WAS OCD) haha.. But there is a different spirit when it comes to everything having a place, verses the dreaded junk drawers.

Such is true in our lives, isn't it? :)

Ummm...I think I have graduated from junk drawers to junk rooms, but I'm working on that aspect of my life.

There is a lady in my previous ward who shared this little tidbit about not ever letting her children "waste" time in front of the television--she would let them watch, but they always had to be doing something--folding clothes, ironing, or--ta da!--cleaning out the junk drawers. So maybe this is why things keep piling up for me? I never sit down and watch TV. I sit down and type on the computer and my hands are thus already occupied! My kids, however, are another story, and I have just been inspired. (Wicked witch laughter resounding through the house!<=~>

I grew up with a VERY large family in a very tiny home (990 sq ft)! We had 'junk' everywhere. But there was that ONE junk drawer. It was so full that you usually couldn't even open it without everything falling out. Our home has a drawer that holds batteries and misc. nails and tools ... I guess that would be the junk drawer, although... there isn't any 'junk' in it. I think I suffer from OCD, I come home from trips and everything must be put away before I can relax. *sigh* just my sanity from living in a crazy home as a child.

I did not know that you have a blog! I am so glad you stopped by mine. Especially today, because I was just thinking about the MB and was going to pop over there after I checked my e-mail.
We have a junk drawer but it is a pretty organized junk drawer. Pens, scratch paper, a couple screwdrivers, take out menus etc. There is also some random stuff that we seem to think we need to hang onto but they don't have a "home" of their own so they end up in the junk drawer.

I have 2 junk drawers! I think that they reproduce things in the night! There is always more junk in them that I don't remember putting in them! Hopefully with the kids in school I can get a handle on them!!!!

I do indeed have a junk drawer. It's in the kitchen and holds all those things that you need but can't find an appropriate spot for anywhere else!

I had to laugh. I thought I was the only one who had a junk drawer.

I had one growing up, it was ALWAYS my top right drawer.

Now it is my right bottom drawer. My junk drawer now, it a lot less than it was grow up. Especially as a teen.

It still gets messy, but I am a lot better at just throwing out stuff now.
